She is a South African attorney who practised in IP and criminal law before moving to corporate and financial services in various legal and compliance portfolios, with a strong emphasis on Privacy enablement. She is the lead compliance Privacy SME for First National Bank and has previously led the Privacy programme for another major South African Bank. Thav is also a qualified UK Data Protection specialist from the British Information Systems Examination Board. She has also held senior compliance roles across corporate and retail banking and was a senior legal advisor to a major IT outsourcing company.
