Osahon Akpata

Osahon Akpata is Group Head, Consumer Payments at Ecobank Transnational Inc. In his current role, he drives the execution of the bank’s payments strategy, with responsibility for market share growth of consumer payment products across the bank’s 33 African country network. Prior to joining Ecobank, Osahon led the Implementation Practice at McKinsey & Company, developing and implementing successful strategies for executive leadership in very competitive industries across West Africa. Osahon began his career at Johnson & Johnson in the US where he had an award-winning sales career.

His expertise lies in developing and executing successful strategies in transformations across large geographical regions and building value-added strategic partnerships. Osahon holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, a BA (Hons.) in Accounting and Finance from Nottingham Trent University and a diploma in Strategic Partnerships from IMD Business School.
