Mubarak is a seasoned fintech founder and CEO with 8 years of experience building tech startups in Africa. His first startup raised $1.3 million in funding to provide access to financial services for the unbanked.

He founded NylaBank with the aim of empowering 1 billion people through innovative, Shariah-compliant financial tools. NylaBank is building Africa’s first digital Islamic bank to offer ethical and Shariah compliant financial products and services. NylaBank has over 30,000 users on its waitlist.

Mubarak is an alumnus of MEST, Techstars, and Google for Startups. He has been featured in TechCrunch, the BBC, and other publications.
