Michael Mande

Michael is a Ugandan who serves as CEO at Salaam Bank Limited in Uganda. His leadership secured the Country’s first fully-fledged Islamic Financial Institution License from the central Bank of Uganda on September 8th, 2023 and on March 27th, 2024, he oversaw the National Launch of Salaam Bank by H.E The President of Uganda, ushering the country’s first Islamic Financial Institution to the population. With 13+ years in Finance, spanning Banking and FinTech, Michael possesses extensive Executive Leadership and Operational acumen. He received training from esteemed institutions including CEO Summit, Strathmore Business School, Busara Leadership Partners, Rise School among others. Michael is passionate about Governance, Risk Management, and Financial Technology. A Makerere University graduate in Computer Science specializing in Software Engineering, Michael began his career at Global Trust Bank, then moved to KCB Bank before his current role at Salaam Bank Limited.
