Ngover Ihyembe-Nwankwo

Ngover Ihyembe-Nwankwo is the Executive Director of Business Development at the Nigeria Interbank Settlement System (NIBSS Plc). A transformative and innovative financial services professional, Ngover has extensive experience in successfully leading teams, initiatives, and projects.

Throughout her career, she has demonstrated exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills, particularly in corporate and institutional client/deal origination, trade product development, cash management solutions, and corporate finance deal structuring. Her previous roles at Rand Merchant Bank and Standard Chartered Bank highlight her capability in these areas.

Ngover is known for her commercial focus, customer-centric approach, and empathy, which complement her business analysis, strategy development, and execution core competencies. She has a proven track record in creating organizational efficiencies, driving innovation, and delivering shareholder value. An excellent presenter, negotiator, and relationship builder, she excels in forging strategic partnerships and building consensus across multiple organizational levels.

In addition to her professional achievements, Ngover is a passionate advocate for diversity, inclusive development, and gender inclusion. She serves as a Trustee on the Board of Women in Management, Business & Public Service (WIMBIZ), the foremost women-focused NGO in Africa.

Ngover holds a Master’s degree in International Management from the University of Exeter and a Bachelor’s degree in Combined Social Sciences (Politics, Philosophy & Economics) from the University of Durham, both in the United Kingdom. She is happily married to a wonderfully supportive husband, and they are blessed with two lovely daughters.
