I’m Passionate about tech in the context of poverty eradication. I have grown up as a village boy in Gatundu South. Got my first exposure to computers in high school in Nairobi School through a mentor Went to University of Nairobi and did Bsc Computer Science Founded my first company called Chura ( chura.co.ke ) right before graduating in my 4th year in 2013. : The company offers bulk airtime distribution for over 100 companies and has partnered with VISA for financial product roll out. I then got involved in another company called weza.io, a company that offers alternative credit scoring by using payment data to assess credit worthiness for the unbanked.

We rolled out the platform in Kenya, Uganda, Cameroon, Ghana, and Haiti among other countries and from it we realised people are not saving. This led to the birth of a Chumz. I’m Currently running Chumz. A savings and investment platform that uses behavioural psychology to guide users to save as low as kes 5 based on their spending behavior. The platform is licensed by the Capital markets authority and has over 50,000 users in under 10 months
